Hi all,

I'm going to be switching my email over to gmail shortly and had a question that should be simple enough to answer, but I haven't been able to locate the answer.

Basically, right now, pine takes my user name and appends it to the user-domain that is set up. I'd like it, instead, to have my gmail address in the header and the login name under that account is different. How can I configure pine so that I can just go on using mail as I usually do and have replies directed to the right place?

Thanks,

Alex

Great someone else still uses pine. :D

From the menu Setup->Configuration, and change user-domain to whatever the gmail domain is. About as simple as you thought.

Yep... never saw a reason to switch to anything else. Pine is lightweight, fairly easy to configure, and I prefer being able to use a console-based program for email as I have to log into my account from other servers on occasion.

That won't do it, see, my user name is XXXX and my gmail name is YYYY. I set up a customized reply-to header, but it's imperfect as when folks reply they'll reply to both email addresses (the gmail and other one.)

If anybody has a way so that I can just have my header be my gmail address, that'd be cool. I guess I could change the username...
