Hi all i emerged xfce's terminal but when i run it as a user it shows up for a moment and then close without any error.If i run it as root all is ok.Any thought why that happens? _________________ "LINUX, MS-DOS, Windows : known as the Good, the Bad and the Ugly."

Try opening a xterm and then openg the xfce terminal from it, so you can take a look at some (possible) error messages. _________________ noup. |

As user nothing.It just show up and then close

Which xfce-terminal version are you using? Try using the 0.2.4 one, adding:

xfce-extra/terminal ~x86
xfce-extra/exo ~x86

to your /etc/portage/package.keywords (assuming x86 is your arch). _________________ noup. |

Your problem sounds ALMOST like what happened to me with kde. A terminal opened on KDE as a user would NOT bring up a bash prompt, but as root it would.
Solution was to run etc-update to catch pending changes for udev related stuff. |
