Hi!
I have a puzzling problem with my integrated soundcard.
I have a VIA 8273 and CMI 9761
Kernel 2.6.11-r3 recognizes it, but I can't have any sound out!
Maybe I've missed something, but maybe you can help me to understand better what's wrong.
At first, yes, I have read ALL the howtos and a lot of posts on this forum, but I didn't found anything that helped me.
So this is my situation:
1) Kernel 2.6.11-gentoo-r3
2) ALSA support copiled builtin (NOT alsa drivers module) (1.0.
3) I have emerged alsa-utils
4) My kernel output on boot (dmesg)

via82xx: Assuming DXS channels with 48 fixed sample rate.
Please try dxs_support=1 or dxs_support=4 option
and report if it works on your machine.

ALSA device list:
#0: VIA 8237 with CMI9761 at 0xc000, irq 22

5) If I run alsaconf it says that there's no compatible PCI card installed, so I can't automatically set up configuration files 
6) if I run alsamixer I have Master volume and PCM muted. Even if I unmute them, I'm not able to raise volume because these controls have no volume bars
7) Lookin'up in ALSA Project Website, I've noticed that ALSA VIA driver does not explicitly supports 8237 but only 8232/8233/8235 chips. 
7) I've read with maximum attention the Gentoo Linux ALSA GUIDE and I can't find nothing wrong in my previous steps.
So dear friends, I really really need your help.
