Salve ragazzi 
Ho dei seri problemi con la mia amata gentoo, quando la rete è attiva (dhcp tramite scheda di rete collegata a switch & router) il pc diventa impossibile da usare. Non riesco a browsare i miei file, nn posso aprire il menù d'avvio di kde, nn posso salvare file scaricando da firefox, o meglio, ci riesco, ma sono costretto ad aspettare decine di minuti per avere una risposta dal pc. Anche all'avvio kde impiega minuti a caricare. Quando invece disattivo la rete (/etc/init.d/net.eth0 stop) tutto funziona a meraviglia (tranne per il fatto che nn posso usare la connessione, ovviamente)... le ho provate tutte, ho cercato di tutto e di più sul forum e su internet, ho letto log che nn mi hanno aiutato per nulla.... insomma, sono disperato 
Come posso risolvere? Sapete darmi qualche consiglio??

dubito visto che si impianta tutto il sistema... direi più un problema a livello kernel... altri suggerimenti?

che scheda di rete e'?
molto tempo fa ho avuto un problema simile con la mia Intel Gigabit.
Cambiato il kernel si e' ripreso tutto.

non sono i DNS perchè su internet va tranquillo.
la scheda di rete in questione è una VIA Rhine II integrata alla scheda madre (ASUS-A7V600-X)
queste sono le impostazioni nel kernel

Non è che magari sia il classico problema con la risoluzione di localhost? Prova a postare il tuo file /etc/hosts prima e dopo esserti connesso alla rete.

ho trovato molti post che rimandavano a vedere "/etc/hosts" ho controllato e credo che sia tutto ok... comunque ve lo

un'altra cosa che potresti provare a controllare è se il dhcp ti modifica il file /etc/hosts.

ragazzi nemmeno così
il dhcp modifica solo /etc/resolv.conf però non credo sia quello il problema i dns li risolve. I dns sono impostati nel router, potrei anche provare a impostarli direttamente nel resolv.conf se sapessi come si fa a non far sovrascrivere il file dal dhcp.
ho visto che c'è un aggiornamento di dhcpcd (dhcpcd-1.3.22_p4-r9) magari aggiornandolo risolvo...

| Problemi di duplex e velocità della rete ? Verifica la porta dello switch a che velocità è impostata e la tua scheda di rete a che velocità viaggia. A me in azienda con gli switch in autosense capita che le schede sbaglino ad impostarsi. Forza porta dello switch e scheda di rete e vedi se viaggia. |

bah non credo che dipenda da settaggi sbagliati perchè su wincoz funziona maledettamente bene, comunque
a questo punto proviamo tutto.
Come si vede l'ipostazione della velocità sulla scheda di rete e quella dello switch?

vedi quali sono i processi che ti si ciucciano la cpu, magari hai qualcosa che funziona solo quando sei connesso

non so proprio che ho fatto credo è bastato aggiungere la seguente opzione al dhcp:
dico non lo so, perchè ho ricominciato tutto da capo con l'installazione ed ho finalmente incenerito wincoz
