Hey all,
Just coming back to Gentoo after going off to see what the other distros out there had to offer...not much . Anyway, after the Grub menu, the screen goes black for about 10-15 seconds before snapping back to life just in time to see the last few boot processes scroll up. The only thing on the screen during this time is a blinking underscore which periodically seems to stumble than get back to rhythm. Edit: Just read the sticky about Gentoo, tried removing the "vga=" entry but that didn't change a thing. If it matters I'm using an ATI Radeon X300 PCI Express graphics card.
Not really sure what else to say so if you need anything clarified just ask. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

sometime these errors can be caused by a mistype on the splashimage line of grub try chrooting back in and checking your grub .conf for errors
you want this line
Code: | splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz |
thats the default line. make any changes if needed
in the past i have had a similar problem but insted of going blank it got all fuzzy and junk until the boot process was nearly complete. was always in grub. _________________ ~AMD64
