Do you know which gentoo should I install, i have
Dell laptop 8200 inspiron
256 DDR Ram
CPU 2Gh
ATI 9000 radeon mobility
512 KB Pipeline Burst L2 cache
400MHz external bus frequency
266MHz AGP 4X Bus
Intel® 845MP AGPSet Chipset with 4X AGP
IEEE 1394 integrated port (Fire Wire)
30 Gb ATA-100 hard drive
any suugestions will be appreciated..

Just grab the latest livecd for the P4's and install with it.
(Actually it only takes around 36hrs to do an install from stage1 so if you only want to download a 40Meg file that would be the way to go)...
Also have a read of http://www.linuxonthego.com/ and see if anyone has used that specific version before. |

What do you mean, which edition ?
Are you speaking of versions (1.2 vs 1.4 )?
( I'm very happy with the 1.4_rc1 I installed on my Inspiron, I update it on a regular basis. )
Or the different stages ? stage 1, 2 or 3 ?
( I went with stage 1, slightly longer, but it gave me a warm fuzzy feeling knowing that my laptop was exactly customized to my needs. )
Or maybe liveCD vs ... ?
