I finally got the network up and running on my Gentoo box, so now I want to move it from my desktop and handle it remotely from my Windows machine.
I already have a VNC viewer om my Windows machine, so i guess that the best/easiest would be to have a VNC server on my Gentoo machine. The question is, can I have the VNC server to start directly at startup, so the gdm (or whatever) login screen will be shown at my Windows VNC client?
Does it matter which VNC server I use, or will they all match my "realVNC" client?

Ok.
Will the installation of xinitd require a lot of configuring not only to accept VNC connections, but also for the existing internet access to work?

xinetd is already installed, just go through the configuration step by step. |
