Ok, last night i emerged giFT (and the giFToxic frontend) and i've found it to be excellent. I only just realised today that, of course, giFT is a cvs release.
Now i've never used cvs......i understand you've got to update every day or so. Do i just re-emerge 'giFT-cvs' everyday to keep up to date (the giFT site says it's best to update daily) or do i need to setup cvs
Sorry for my naivety but i just haven't used a cvs release before. |

The ebuild automatically fetches the sources from CVS and builds them, getting fresh sources each time the merge is done. _________________ Man must shape his tools lest they shape him. |

Is it possible to only reemerge if the CVS code has been updated? Seems kind of stupid to reemerge it everyday (if the code has not been changed.)
Best Regards,

emerge has an option to not install packages that are already there, but i don't know if it checks the ebuild version or if it can tell that the source changed. _________________ I am Beta, don't expect correct behaviour from me.
