Hello, i started to install Gentoo 2005.0 here, i decided to go with a Stage 1 instalation.

Everything was going fine till this :

Code:
# echo "=sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r1 -amd64" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
# emerge =gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r1

Now i got the error message : Emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy ...........

Well, i started all over 3 times to make sure i wasnt making anything wrong =/

Anyone know what is wrong ?

That's the problem, that's an old ebuild. Using just gentoo-sources will get you the current version

Hi ! Thanks for your reply, but the instalation guide has this note :

Quote:
Note: Running emerge gentoo-sources will fail due to a bug with the Universal Installation CD. Please make sure you run emerge =gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r1 instead. This has no further effect on your environment as Portage will automatically download a more recent kernel source when updating your system (after the installation).

hmm well the problem is that package is gone from the tree. I'd recommend just going into /usr/portage/sys-kernel/gentoo-sources and looking to see what the most current version is, and trying that one.
