Code: | ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" | You should not use ~x86 for installing gentoo. Other than that I don't know what the problem is. It looks like some functions of glibc can't be found, but I may be wrong. I found two other posts in the forums with the same problem, but both without resolution alas. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Well, as this is the x-th attempt to rebuild my toolchain, etc. I tried switching to ~x86 but nothing helped so far. An emerge -e system while using stable only failed, too.
I've searched the forums, too, asked Google and so on and found quite a lot but no solution. On two other Gentoo-based machines I've never experienced this but I'm hesitant to re-install the whole box *again*. I might run into the same problem again. |

Ah, you're working on an already installed system then and upgraded your toolchain to ~x86. And now you may have a borked toolchain. I don't suppose you ran quickpkg glibc gcc binutils first to generate binary packages of the stable toolchain first, right? If you have two other working systems you could create binary packages on one of them and transfer them to your troubled system. Perhaps that will get you past this problem. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered

I don't understand this anymore... I made binary packages (glibc, gcc, binutils) on the second machine which doesn't have the problem, emerged them on the troubled machine - and nothing changed. Same problem.
Goddamn, I've been using Linux since 1996 now and I've never been that clueless... |

This bug looks a lot like your problem.
No solution here yet either. You may want to keep an eye on that bug entry though. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered
