Trouble with HP LaserJet 1100

I am using cups-1.1.23-r1, hpijs-1.7.1, kernel-2.6.12-gentoo-r6
Printer HP LJ 1100 (tried to connect it in cups directly and throuh PTAL, driver hpijs) is working, but with a few troubles:
it prints too slow(queue led on the printer begins to blink after some seconds), and there is a vertical line across the whole page in the middle.

I couldn't find anything like that, can you help me?
