Currently 1 days messages in the Desktop forum take up 2 pages. Given that most threads are about KDE or Gnome and that most people only use 1 of these, wouldn't it make sense to make a KDE and a Gnome sub-forum to divide things up a bit? Making it a sub forum of Desktop Env. would mean that it still get's read before people go look in the KDE/Gnome forum. |

I don't think phpBB 2.0.x supports subforums, although I believe I read that this is scheduled for 2.2. Your point about KDE and GNOME forums is well taken. We came very close to having separate KDE and GNOME forums in the August restructuring, and I would certainly be interested in seeing what people's opinions are on this matter now. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

I'm hesitant to create dedicated KDE/GNOME forums now, but once 2.2 comes out, (Real Soon Now) assuming it supports sub-forums, I'd likely be strongly in favor of creating them then.
