I compiled the driver and have the module load on boot, but can not get the device the show as dev/sda
What do I need to do the accomplish that ?

gmlabs,
From your dmesg snippet, the drives on your Promise Fasttrak XT2 IDE controller have been attached to the IDE subsystem as /dev/hde and /dev/hdg.
Why were you expecting /dev/sda ? _________________ Regards,

I made the raid in the bios of the card,
Since I'm now booting and usif dev/hde (the primary) I hope one I use the raid it will sync the second drive.
I do oknow that the second drive onlt has the data as at time of creation.
The problem I'm having is booting of /dev/hde1 loading the modues and then mounting dev/sda3 as root
I think this is what I want to do , but being the first time using ide raid , don't know.
Unfortionately this server was not my call ,and a DL380 would have saved me allot of time and frustration ![Smile :)](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

gmlabs
did you ever get your FastTrak TX2 to work? I have the same card, and am experiencing very similar problems.
