|
|
I've almost got my gentoo setup exactly as I want it, except one problem with gnome that is annoying.
it thinks 1280x1024 is the default resolution when i'd much prefer 1600x1200 to be.
gdm starts in 1600x1200, correctly, my /etc/X11/xorg.conf file has '1600x1200' as the first resolution for all bit depths, and, when i go to change the gnome settings with 'desktop resolution' in the applications launcher, i have 'make default for this computer (desktop) only' checked when i switch it to 1600x1200.
this is probably a quick thing to fix
cheers in advance |

Try this: Open the Configuration Editor (in system tools in the application menu), and in the /desktop/gnome/screen area try setting the resolutions by hand. On my system I had a default entry, as well as one with my hostname. I had to set both to get my default desktop resolution to be correct.
Hope this helps! |

You could always change your Xorg file to change the Default system resolution. _________________ Posting for dummies |

Make sure your bit depth is supported by the xorg driver, I had a similar problem that was fixed by lowering the depth on it. _________________ "After all, a person's a person, no matter how small."--Horton Hears A Who! |
