What is needed to allow the system to immediately make use of changes in resolv.conf?

Thanks. That's what I though but was having trouble getting some changes to be effective. Finally noticed this line in the man page: Quote: | The domain and search keywords are mutually exclusive. If more than one instance of these keywords is present, the last instance wins. | and since the "search" keyword could take multiple entries I eliminated the "domain" keyword and all is now OK.
