|
|
I came across a note that support for the wireless a/b/g Dell Truemobile 1450 (miniPCI) was going to show up in 2.6.12... I searched again and found this page:
http://www.linuxhq.com/kernel/v2.6/12-rc1/drivers/pci/pci.ids
Which shows:
4321 BCM4306 802.11a Wireless LAN Controller
+ 4322 BCM4306 UART
4324 BCM4309 802.11a/b/g
1028 0001 Truemobile 1400
+ 1028 0003 Truemobile 1450 MiniPCI
+ 4325 BCM43xG 802.11b/g
+ 1414 0003 Wireless Notebook Adapter MN-720
+ 1414 0004 Wireless PCI Adapter MN-730
Does this mean there is kernel support or not? I'm not sure what this is showing... |

It only means that the device can be identified by manufacturer and product ID code.

Does ayone know where/when support may be added into the kernel? Is there someplace I can look? |

Thats what I was afraid of Not that there's any problem with it, but I just feel a little dirty using a windows driver wrapped in NDIS wrapper.
Anyway... glad it worked out. I will check that out too.
Thanks

Yeah it wasn't ideal... but... I wanted my internal wireless more than I wanted to put a different card in... |
