|
Is there any way to make mpd play some random file not from the music directory? I tried :
Code: |
mpc clear ; mpc add somefile.ogg ; mpc play
|
but mpd wont load a file that is not in the music directory. It wount even load playlist from playlist directory if there are links to streams. Is there any workaround of that?
I mean something like "beep-media-player someplaylist" or somefile or somestream functionality.
I mean if mpd can only play one's music collections it's pretty useless as all-round music player. |

Don't know if your question is still valid, but anyway try this: Code: | mpc clear
mpc ls | mpc add
mpc random on
mpc play |
you can also change "mpc ls" to "mpc ls yourmusic" directory. I hope this helps. |
