Um...I don't even know what the top most build error is
above it dos say

You need Perl 5
SO this was after compiling for many hours - I hope it's not to bad and I don't have to restart - should I have piped the less command?
Plesae fix my compile error I was so excited - Thanks in advanve you guys are great!

Hi.
That error means that you should post the 15 to 20 previous lines. That way people will see the error and not the warning that there was an error.
From what you've posted, you should look at the sticky thread on this forum about Perl5.

| This will sound really newbish. I did not pipe the less command when emerging. I will definetely check out the Pearl thing, but so I know in the future. How the heck do I copy and paste the last 20 liens to the forum. I have been typing everythign out and it is a pain. I did not use less, and I can next time., but even so can I output to a file or use a simple copy paste method and then post with links2? The supernoob really appreciates it. |

One other thing - where can I find documentation about the different commands used in gentoo. For instance I think I found the answer in the sticky thread you suggested, but the answer I am going to try is
emerge libperl && emerge libperl && emerge system
When do I have to use emptytree, when can I just use emerge, and where can I find these commands as listed above. The handbook dosn't really show this, but maybe it is beyond me. |
