Hi,
I am having problems accessing my ActiveCard ActiveKey (a usb smartcard) on my Gentoo x86_64 currently running 2.6.12-gentoo-r2. Earlier kernels have the same problem. On my other 32bit Gentoo, I am able to plug the ActiveKey into my USB port and have that key picked up by VMware Workstation 5. However, in the 64bit build, plugging in the ActiveKey generates the following message in dmesg:
Quote: |
usb 2-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
usb 2-1: usbfs: usb_submit_urb returned -22
|
The "usb 2-1: usbfs: usb_submit_urb returned -22" seems to be the source of the problem. Other USB devices work OK on VMware (except for VMware's broken USB 2.0 functionality) and even the ActiveKey is detected in the VMware Windows XP guest, although its core functionality is not available probably due to the error mentioned above.
Does anyone have any clues or work arounds.
