ok, i want to try out gentoo but before i begin i want to know how long it should take. i have a pentium 4 2Ghz, 365meg of ram, and a 1mbps connects that usually runs at about 30kbps on windows bout at 116kpbs anywhere else.
i want to do a stage 1 install but i dont want a desktop like gnome or kde, because i want to try out enlightenment as a wm.
can anyone help me out as to how long this should take? also any reccomendations as to a good lightweight windowmanager in favour of enlightenment would also be welcome
thanx

I have no idea how long a stage one on your machine would take. Well hours, not days for just the basic system.
Fluxbox is a very nice lightweight windowmanager imho _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered
