Hi everyone,
I have a simple question about mod_php and getting it working. I emerged it yesterday and checked config files and everything is cool, restarted apache without a problem and apache is working, however when i go to a php file it says forbidden and that it does not have permission to view test.php (the file im trying to view in a browser). Im sure this is an easy one for you experienced people but I am not sure what to do. I figure some user or group needs some permissions they dont have but im not sure which user or group.
Many Thanks in advance

The user running apache (check your apache.conf/httpd.conf or equal) needs to have the right to read the file you want to serve. Check your error_log, that should tell you the whole path and update your permissions.
cheers
