I need to use esp gs for my printer but I also need the more advanced features of gs (8.15 on) for saving vector art as pdfs with correct transparency, etc.
I have already installed the later gs in /etc/local, I just need to know if there's a way to specify that the eps save function of inkscape can be routed to a different prefix than /usr/bin so I can force it to use a later gs.
Or else, maybe a better scenario would be to make cups us an esp-gs that is in /etc/local and let the rest use a later gs...
Any thoughts? _________________ www.impressusart.com |

No; just some questions.
Can you make an ebuild for the later version of ghostscript, have it installed in the usual place, and then let everything use it?
Hmmm. There is an entry in Gentoo bugs (number 91119) asking for an ebuild for eps ghostscript 8.15rc3, but its over 3 months old. Maybe there's something tricky about it.
