HELP!
handbook上说更新portage 树需要emerge --sync或emerge-webrsync
（安装完了gentoo 2005 universal ,但是我想更新一下部分软件）
但是我的机器现在暂时上不了网，那么要更新它的话，是不是还有别的方法？（在朋友的windows机器上下载了snapshot）

| 是，如果我没有记错的话，把portage那个tar ball解到/usr/portage目录下去就可以了。stage3安装，make.conf里面mirror默认是光盘。所以emerge各个包的时候，就直接从光盘上搞了。详细看看gentoo安装手册就行（应该有中文的吧，俺们版主大人翻译过简体版的。) |

手册在这里, 有点 out-date 了... 有不一致的地方以官方英文版为准...
手册里有关于这个的内容嘛? 我翻译完都忘了

It's easy to update the portage tree. Just delete the /usr/portage directory (after you backup the sources and binaries of course), then unpack the snapshot you downloaded elsewhere and type:
The tricky part is to get the sources, to do this manually from another machine is very painful; portage is supposed to do all these hard work for you, but since you can't get online, you're doomed!
