I recently setup a postfix & courier-imap mail server. Everything went smoothly, I got all of the mailboxes setup, basing it on http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Email_System_for_the_Home_Network . However, I recently switched from Outlook to Mozilla Thunderbird, and now, every time I try and send email, I get the following error:
"Could not establish an encrypted connection because certificate presented by <mail server> is invalid or corrupted. Error Code: -8182"
Of course, I can't find a single page on Google for how to overcome this error. I also didn't see a definate fix in the thread that the HOWTO was based on.
I even went through the trouble of creating a certificate signed by CAcert, but of course that didn't work either.
So now, I'm completely lost and unsure of what to do to just get this fixed. I don't want to go back to Outlook, and I KNOW it's a problem with Thunderbird, but the fix has to be for courier itself it seems. |

If that's an error from trying to send email, it's your postfix setup that's messed up.
Have you checked your postfix certs for problems? |

Ahh, that was the problem- this whole time I thought it was a problem with the courier certs, but in reality it was the postfix certs. All it required was copying the courier ones over the postfix ones and it worked perfectly. Thanks for bumping me in the right direction! |

Hi,
could you be more specific, please?! I wonder what was wrong with your postfix configuration. Because i´m trying to fix the same problem, but without any result _________________ Mr Neutron: "Mrs S, I can eat enormous quantities of ice cream without being sick." |
