cdrom volume label not attached on kde desktop icon.

Hi , This is a totally eye_candy issue.
I have a 2.6 kernel based system running kde 3.3 .
Now I have udev,dbus,hald and ivman working.

In kde
I insert a cdrom..it creates an icon after mounting it automatically. But the icon name has the device name not the CDROM volume label name for eg. CD-ROM /dev/hdb instead of "thesisbackup".

In gnome same setup .
I insert the same CD it automounts and neatly calls the cdrom icon "thesisbackup" on my desktop.

Why does the identical setup not make kde call the cdrom icon by the volume label. WHat do I have to do to get the cdrom volume label to show up in the corresponding kde icon.
Any help wil be greatly appreciated and go a long way ..
