Ok, so my girlfriend is currently running XP and not surprisingly has managed to gunk it up with more spyware, freezes, slowdowns, and constant error messages than i could have thought imaginable. At one point, i decided to put Mandrake on a partition to let her try it out and not have a completely messed up desktop, but it turns out she uses AOL, which appears to just.. not let you connect to their service unless you use THEIR software (which i did not know) . My question is did i just do something flatout wrong... or .. is there some way to get around this? Can you connect to AOL and just browse normally as with any normal ISP? |
