Hi, apologies if this has already dealt with, but I can't find it anywhere..

I'm having issues with evo on Gnome 2.10, it keeps deleting mail from my POP server without downloading it first!!
As you can imagine, this is pretty damn annoying.. It doesn't do it all of the time, but there doesn't seem to be any pattern to it either..

Initially I thought it was spamassassin, but I unmerged it & still evo deletes mail!

please help, I don't want to go back to thunderbird :(

Unmerging spamassassin won't remove the procmail rules that sort out the spam - unless evolution uses spamassassin directly ?

I'm not sure, its never something I've had to sort out before as I've never run my own mailserver, I always pick one that has spam filtering at the server end.
I didn't even know evo used spamassassin until I encountered this prob & started investigating..

Evo depends on spamassassin, so I assme it does use it?

Like I said, I've never had to sort this sort of stuff out before in 8yrs of running *nix..

Where does procmail store its rules? Is there a howto with some syntax?
cheers

If evolution doesn't call spamassassin directly then it probably uses your own ~/.procmailrc - check that.

hmm, don't appear to have one, neither in ~ nor a global one in /etc
and there's no man or texinfo pages for procmail either..

maybe evo keeps its own rules in its config dir?
