Hi folks,
I'm pretty new to Gentoo. I'm having some problems getting my Orinoco Gold card to work with the 2.6 kernel.
In fact, I can't get it to work at all
I have emerged the pcmcia_cs utils and also emerge wireless_tools to no avail.
Here's some output for you:
Code: |
iwconfig:
eth0 no wireless extensions.
lo no wireless extensions.
|
So that doesn't appear to even list my PCMCIA Orinoco card at all.
Code: |
cardctl status:
Socket 0:
no card
Socket 1:
5V 16-bit PC Card
function 0: [ready]
cardctl ident:
Socket 0:
no product info available
Socket 1:
product info: "Lucent Technologies", "WaveLAN/IEEE", "Version 01.01", ""
manfid: 0x0156, 0x0002
function: 6 (network)
|
So I'm a bit at a loss!
I don't seem to be able to "fire-up" the card so to speak; that is the lights on the card are not lit-up so I presume the card has not been initialised!
Thanks in advance for your help.[/list] |
