hello,
I have a HP PSC 500 printer/scanner combo which works on parrallel port, I use it with hplip and it works great for printing.
But i didn't manage to configure the scanner (according to the hplip doc my scanner should work).
The only conf file I know is /etc/sane.d/dll.conf which only has this :
and the scanner isn't detected in 'xsane' or 'scanimage -L' (tried it as root too).
I emerged hplip with the scanner useflag though.
Code: | net-print/hplip-0.9.3 +X +cups +foomaticdb +ppds -qt +scanner -snmp +usb |
I don't really know what information i could give to precise my problem, if there's something to do with sane conf....
PS.
just tried to install hpoj, then stop hplip and start hpoj, and it doesn't work either |

muf,
if you use hplip and sane, could you just post how you made it work (even the really really obvious steps that are in the doc and all, cause i happen to be kind of dyslexic some times...) |

Don't know if this was resolved or not, but I added things to the wiki that I think should help you and any other PSC 500 users out.....

Check the spot about scanning and using 'ptal-init setup' _________________ bling bling |
