Like I already posted in this thread (I post the exact problem here again, because I think it's a AMD64 related problem), k3b is extremely unstable on my system. It crashes for example immediately if I try to create a data CD. Burning a CD is impossible. This happens with k3b-0.11.12-r1, k3b-0.11.16 and k3b-0.11.17. I tried the following kernels with a lot different configs: gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.7-r9, gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.8-r4 and mm-sources-2.6.9_rc2-r2. There is no useful backtrace, but I will post it anyway.

A very interesting fact is, that this problems only occure if I start k3b out of kde (only tested 3.3). If I start it out ouf xfce4 or even XSession everything workes obsolutely fine.

Do you have any ideas? :?

No ideas, what happens?

Why does it work if started out of xfce, but not if started out of kde?

Personnally, I desactivate the nptl option (USE="-nptl").
I rebuilded glibc, cdrtools, cdrdao, qt, kdelibs, kdebase, k3b.
Now I use k3b 0.11.17.

Yeah, not too late ?

May it be related to hal? Not to nptl because i've tried with linuxthreads and i have the same result...

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this? Maybe someone knows the pattern to repeat the crashes? Any kde user on amd64 that doesn't have this problem can help us?
What program do yo recomend to use, if k3b continues crashing?

Thanks a lot!
