What is this oronico patch for?
I use wireless, but with ndiswrapper (works almost perfectly).
Can I use it? If not how to disable remove (patch reverse maybe).
Another thing I'am still having is inotfiy hang ups, is this fixed with this release?

Hi,
sorry guys but 2.6.11-morph1 won't be out until tomorrow. I've been running it for two days and intended to release it tonight, but I saw that a new stable version of softwaresuspend2 is out and I'd like to include that. Please wait just a little more, I'd rather be reasonably sure of what I do than regret it later
I've added support for nicksched (Nick Piggin's scheduler, whose latest revision was released two days ago). Now you can choose via USE flag if you want the O1 scheduler (default), staircase or nicksched. I've been running with nicksched in the last few days and I have to say it is behaving pretty well.
Cheers! _________________

To get rid of these warning messages add the following to your kernel configuration:
Code: | Bus Options... -->
PCCARD (PCMCIA/CardBus) support --->
<M> PCCard (PCMCIA/CardBus) support
<M> 16-bit PCMCIA support (NEW)
[*] 32-bit CardBus support (NEW)
<M> CardBus yenta-compatible bridge support |
That is what fixed the warning messages for me. |

Hi,
2.6.11-morph1 is out. Changelog:
- first release of 2.6.11 series
- updated swsusp2 to 2.1.8
- merged cfq-ts
- latest reiser4 code with fixes from 2.6.11-mm1
- updated acpi patch to 20050303
- updated inotify to 0.20
- added mapped watermark patch from -ck
- added optional nicksched scheduler
- updated mppe-mppc patch to 1.3
- reworked and cleaned up the ebuild
I suggest everyone to try this out even if it is not "stable" (i.e. not enough tested yet). For more details you can go to the website, I'm quite tired and going to bed now
Cheers all! _________________

Mmhh... What do you mean? Squashfs _is_ in morph-sources actually. It has been there since a long time ago _________________

could you insert a printk with the name of the scheduler in use in the next morph release?
like this: Running with staircase/0(1)/NickSched cpu scheduler. _________________ http://th30z.netsons.org/ |

shouldn't it be?
Code: | emerge --digest morph-sources |
and did you do this before?
Code: | echo "sys-kernel/morph-sources ~x86" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords |
also i had problem emerging the kernel because in the .ebuild file there was a line with ~amd64 which i dont use so i removed it and was able to compile the kernel there after. _________________ (8 Mars 2005 - 07:52:46)

this would do for you,
Code: | echo "sys-kernel/morph-sources ~amd64" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords |
-------
i am installing gentoo right now and i had some red text about blakdown-jre saying that VM was not sufficent and that another blackdown-(something) was needed,.. i was about to create a new post to get some advice on this and past some stuff from my mouse in here but i forgot about it and i copy and past the code above lol..... anyway hope it wasn't important. _________________ (8 Mars 2005 - 07:52:46)

now i got this
Code: | bash-2.05b# echo "sys-kernel/morph-sources ~amd64" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
bash-2.05b# emerge --digest morph-sources
Calculating dependencies
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "morph-sources".
bash-2.05b# |
can you tell me setp-by-step how you did it |

no need. got it working. just has to put the ebuild in /usr/loca/portage/sys-kernel/morph-sources and then digest it |

in my make.conf file i have this,
Code: | ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" |
yours perhaps looks this this,
Code: | ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64 ~amd64" |
so you should remove ~x86 from the morph-source ebuild file,
Code: | KEYWORDS="~x86 ~amd64" |
and put this instead,

Running 2.6.11-morph1. nvidia, reiser4, nicksched. Seems to be running fast and stable. Thanks for the good work as usual.

well i am not sure, i can't remember if mine had that option, what i remember, i am not sure about it, was that stack size 8 was already checked as default, but it was there, perhaps you should look again, if you're working on this for a long time your brain might not see stuff that are there, happens to me.
edit: i guess the new version was released today, perhaps that version dont have it as default. _________________ (8 Mars 2005 - 07:52:46)
