Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone knows of items like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009F18L6/qid=1121078005/sr=1-23/ref=sr_1_0_23/202-6001809-2187824

or even an entire cordless skype-compatible phone that work with linux?

Cheers,

Alan.

If you had clicked the link "See full technical data" you would have seen:

Hi Eelke,

Thanks for that. I meant to ask if it supports dialing out from the phone as well and whether it can answer a call when it rings.

Anyone have any experience with these?

Cheers,

Alan.

Ok - finally managed to track down the web site.
http://www.chat-cord.com/

The software required to make it dial with skype etc is windows only.

So back to square one - does anyone know of software that would make this work on linux or a product which will work with linux?

Cheers,

Alan.

That site says that the adapter is for windows only.

Did you manage to get it to work? Or have you found anything else? Anyone have a solution?

Hi Bob,

They have the linux support mentioned in the FAQ, but nowhere else. The particulars are here http://www.cuphone.com/help/linux.htm

I've not got it to work, though another gentoo user has. I've been trying to track down the difference, but all attempts so far have come up blank. Have put a clean gentoo install on a new partition I've been chrooting to so soon I'll try that.

Will let you know if I have any luck. The steps I followed (which got it working for someone else) are here https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-366879-highlight-.html

Cheers,

Alan.
