when i use the command sane-find-scanner it finds my usb scanner.
but when i run xsane it says it can't locate any scanner.

Failed to open device epson:/dev/usb/scanner0

What about trying;
xsane epson:/dev/usbscanner0
I've got the correct path to my scanner in /etc/sane.d/epson.conf (I think thats the location, at work on a winNT machine) and xsane works great. also in the /etc/sane.d/?dll file I've commented out everything other than the epson line.
