hmm...
Ho un SMSUNG SyncMaster 172v.
Noto che a 1280x1024 il monitor sfarfalla (anche se nn eccessivamente).
Kde mi dice di avere una frew di 61Hz.
e questo è il mio xorg.conf relativo al monitor:

è successa una cosa simile ad un mio amico sul portatile...
quando aveva fatto la configurazione di xorg (con xorgconfig) tra le frequenze ha scelta una marchiata "Vga", da qui lo schermo che sfarfallava di brutto.
è un problema di frequenze... prova queste...

ok...
intanto ho recuperato il manuale e ho scritto quelle freq di lavoro su xorg.conf... piu tardi riavvio la macchina e vedo come cambia.. |

se usi Athcool potrebbe essere lui la causa dello sfarfallamento, ma non c'è risoluzione al problema se non fermando il demone di Athcool
