I have KDE 3.1 installed along with a Nvidia GeForce2 MX card. I also compilied Advanced Power Management BIOS support into my Kernel. I just want my Monitor to go into Suspend after X number of minutes. I set it via the KDE Control Panel but nothing happens. Is it the Nvidia card? Something else I missed in the Kernel? |

You might need
in the monitor section in /etc/X11/XF86Config
I saw it in many other threads here.

Yep, did that and it works. Also in the ServerFlags section you can add Options for StandbyTime, SuspendTime, and OffTime. I was just bummed a little that I couldn't control that thru the KDE interface. |

Cool, didn't know that!
I thought you could control the times in KDE under power control, display power contol? That's how I set mine.
Actually the reason I saw your post is because for some reason, 'power off' from kde makes my monitor crazy (suspends, wakes up, suspends, wakes up) but 'suspend' works.
I'm trying to figure this out |

Just fixed my problem. But I have you to thank.
When I replied to you I didn't capitalize 'Option' the first time and it looked odd. Sure enough it wasn't capitalized in my file.
I guess the capital O is important. Problem fixed. |
