1) I messed around in settings, and now whenever a window opens it does not get focus by default. i.e. i press alt+f2, it opens the 'run program' window, but focus is still on old window, so i have to click/alt+tab to a it. In KControl -> Windows -> Focus none of the option deal with window being focused on upon openning... hummm...
2) Can I make it so Konqueror would have no access to internet? I am fine using it as a file namager, however I want it to be just that, and nothing else.
thank you,
Victor |

You might have tried this, but how about changing Desktop -> Window Behaviour -> Advanced -> Focus Stealing settings?
There's probably more elegant solutions to keeping Konqueror off the internet. But how about pointing it at a non-existant proxy? |

Yeah, if you start it as "konqueror -profile filemanagement" or some such it won't be a web browser unless you tell it to be. I can't see why you'd actually need to prevent the application talking to the internet at all? _________________ What are you, stupid? |

I had the same problem and your post gave me just that little push to look some better to it. And guess what.... i've found it . So.... this will do the thrick (at least at my kde install ):
Desktop->window behaviour->advanced(tab)->Focus stealing prevention level->none.
