i am running gentoo 2.4.28, fluxbox-0.9.13-r1, and xorg-x11-6.8.2-r2.
i rebooted my machine after 10 months a few weeks ago (during which i think xfree86 got replaced by xorg.)
now when i use fluxbox, i get logged out after a couple of hours. once it was a couple of days when it happened. i don't understand why i get logged out. i looked at /var/log/Xorg.0.log, but couldn't find any errors.
how do i find out why i get rebooted? which log files can i check and what do i look for? i'm not even sure if i get i get logged out or X crashes. when i log out, however, it is not sudden, it happens over a couple of seconds. music stops playing, everything hangs, after a few seconds, music (xmms) resumes briefly, before applications close and i'm presented with a login screen.
this seems to happen when i use matlab.
i didn't get logged out when i used gnome.
are there any tests i can run to find out why i get logged out when i use fluxbox.
thanks for any help.
