I have a video file on a reiserfs partition and when I try to copy it to another partition it fails, and dmesg gives the following disturbing messages:

These messages indicate that the hard disk is dying (although it is a brand new one), but when I run reiserfsck and reiserfsck --rebuild-sb, the program told me that everything is fine with the partition.
The interesting thing is that although I can not copy the movie, I can play it.
Can anybody tell me how I can look into this problem even further? Is the hard disk dying or the file is corrupted? |

You may want to check the manufacturer website for your drive and see if they have a diagnostic utility you can run. Most of them do.

I run a utility that the manufacturer gave me and it fixed the problem!! I do not why but now the file is not corrupted and I can copy it |
