Custom fbsplash resolution: 1280x720@60

Is anyone running custom resolutions for there fbsplash? I have my HTPC hooked to a 16:9 projector where the native resolution is 1280x720@60. For all intensive purposes, the projector is a large LCD display as far as vesafb-tng is concerned. Like most mondern LCD displays, the projector scales other resolutions as needed to the native res.

I think I would need to do two things:

1. create a 1280x720 graphic for the /etc/splash/default theme
   
2. create a fb console mode line for the 1280x720 resolution
   

The graphic bits are easy enough but I'm not sure of if vesafb can pick up custom mode lines and if it can where would such a config file live. (some where in /etc ?)

Any ideas if what I'm after is even possible or if I'm limited to strictly VESA standard resolutions with the vesafb-tng?[/list]
