Code:
Xlib:  extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib:  extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".

This looks kind of like you don't have proper GL support for your video card... what are you running and which drivers do you have for it?

Using -opengl flag? And. Is the latest (mask) wine?

About sound. I reemerget Wine with OSS support. Tried, and still doesn't work. While I tried mpg123 -o oss something.mp3, and that worked! Even without aoss! (When I say worked, I mean dmixed...) Whats wrong?

My sound config in .wine/config

Code:
[WinMM]
; Uncomment the "Drivers" line matching your sound setting.

"Drivers" = "wineoss.drv"      ; default for most common configurations
;"Drivers" = "winearts.drv"    ; for KDE
;"Drivers" = "winealsa.drv"    ; for ALSA users
;"Drivers" = "winejack.drv"    ; for Jack sound server
;"Drivers" = "winenas.drv"     ; for NAS sound system
;"Drivers" = "wineaudioio.drv" ; for Solaris machines
;"Drivers" = ""                ; to disable sound
;"WaveMapper" = "msacm.drv"
;"MidiMapper" = "midimap.drv"

Can you clarify exactly what it is that you're experiencing, and that you want? Can you not get any sound at all, or is it just that other programs can't output sound at the same time? I've never used dmix (or if I have I don't know it), so I can't really help with anything specific to it. I presume your soundcard doesn't support multiple streams, (else I've missed the point of dmix :)) - is there anything else locking the sound device?
Maybe somebody who actually knows what they're talking about may be able to help...
Edit: can you get sound from other applications in Wine? Also I don't know what version of Wine is in portage, but remember that the config file is now obsolete in CVS and in 20050628

I have the 20050524 version. I get sound using wineoss and winealsa, but not using winearts. But I can't listen to te radio while in game and I still want those sounds in WoW.

I just emerged the latest version of wine and applied the shamus fix (from page 9 I guess) and WoW seems to work for me now :)

Just wondering... does this fix the "mouse bug" for anyone else?

Yes, I'm just trying a free guest pass (trying to work out if I can justify buying it :) ) - Once it patched up to 1.5.1 i started to experience the mouse bug, and the PRELOAD trick fixed the mouse issue. Using latest wine.

The fix seems to work for most people, but for those the fix is not working for, it seems nearly impossible to find the difference to the working systems. So after all, the fix is really great as it helps many addicted players, but still behaves like a random lottery for the individual user.

About Sound:
As far as I know do the winedrivers completly occupy the Soundcard. They cant work with software Multiplexing (what dmix and Arts actually do) I do not understand why. But even with arts I never got it right to support different Soundstreams. On Linux native Programms it is no Problem at all.

About Performance on Linux [OFF-Topic]
Try Doom3. The developers of the game say that the Linux Version of the game have a much better Performance then the Windows Version. I guess that this is due the different to the aims of the two systems. They have different goals how to handle Ressource shortage.

About Mouse Issue:
Its everything said. But if it not works for a certain number of people I wouldn't have put it on WikiHowTo. Personly it does not work on my Comp. I get Error #132 pretty fast.

About mysterious WoW short patch:
Could it be that this patch comes when you have certain hardware?
This is just a guess of course :)

Cheers
Legine
EDIT: Thx the stuff with OpenGL
