After booting my laptop, my hour is sometimes changed, I gain few minutes.
I've read the forum but haven't found any solution.
I don't want to use internet to set my clock as I don't systematically have an internet access.

I've set a symbolic link in "/etc/localtime" to "/usr/share/zoneinfo/<my_zone>"
I've set to "local" the "CLOCK" variable of "/etc/conf.d/clock"
I've attempted to modify the hour from my Linux environment AND from the BIOS but without success.

Any help would be really appreciated.
Thx.

Do you dual boot? I used to have a similar problem till i set clock="local" as you have done...

I have no idea what this problem could be. You may want to consider contacting the maker of your laptop, or using NTP.

I know you said you dont want to use NTP, but it would help your problem a bit, it wont hurt to try it, and at least when you do connect to a network you will have your time updated.

Maybe you're right. I'll use this solution if I really don't manage to make the clock working well without internet.

I've eventually decided to use NTP to adjust my hour, and it works fine, thanks to the doc : http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_NTP
I've used a multi-runlevel at boot to select a "connected" mode with the ntp-client daemon and a "nonetwork" mode without this daemon.
