Since I recently updated to ppp-2.4.3-r6, my dialup connection isn't restored after my daily disconnect and pppd eats up all of the cpu time it can get its hands on.
Funny thing is, I merely updated from ppp-2.4.3-r5 to r6, which didn't have the problem but was recently removed from portage.
I am running ~amd64/gcc3.4.

Same here on my Debian Router. I switched back to 2.4.2 which fixed it. Seems to be an upstream bug!?
