Ok, i had a long-italian dialog with another italian about how to make an initrd, but it didn't solved my problem at all...
Ok, in 2 words, i have compiled a module for my RAID controller, added it into /lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/drivers/scsi (i think)
and added dependencees in modules.dep, than i have done an initrd with the lvm script...
I have re-booted from a Grub floppy, typed
Code: | #root (hd0,0) (he find ext-2 boot partition)
#kernel (hd0,0)/boot/bzImage initrd=/boot/initrd root=/dev/sda3
(he find kernel) than
#boot
|
Ok, kernel starts and tells me:
Code: | VSF: Cannot open device "/dev/sda3" or 72:03
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VSF: unable to mount root fs on 72:03"
|
Ok, in the modules.dep i added 1-scsi_mod.o
2-sd_mod.o
I have also tried to give as "root=" option /dev/hda1, hda2, hda3, hdb1, hdb2, hdb3, hdc1, hdc2, hdc3, hde1, hde2, hde3, hdg1, hdg2, hdg3.
Anyone can help me??? _________________ registered Linux user number #411324
