|
|
-i've tryed a lot of things
-i've read some forum post such as:
*https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-296898-highlight-resize.html (i've not partition magic)
*https://forums.gentoo.org//viewtopic-t-352246-highlight-ext2resize.html
i've installed ext2resize:
i typed emerge ext2resize qtparted
I can't resize and moove ext2/3 filesystem in qtparted!!!!
(that's very important as i'm running out of space so i can't install a suitable gentoo system)
what i can't do certain operations:
-free space before the partition(all:ext2/,vfat...)
-move a partition
-make a partition grow after
can't do lvm/evms because
-only one free partition(ext3)
-some ntfs filesystem to resize(ntfs files=>copy to vfat=>delete ntfs files under wndows =>resize ntfs=>blocked because can't expand fat or ext3 filesystem) |

-i discovered with genoo wiki that there is only non jounalised filesystems that can be moved,resized...
=>vfat
=>ext2
mabe others
so
=>i converted to ext2
but there is a problem:
I type:
Code: | #ext2resize /dev/hdc4 5242880 |
and there is the folowing message
ext2resize v1.1.17 - 2001/03/18 for EXT2FS 0.5b
ext2resize: warning - device size 3931908, specified 5242880
error: Invalid argument: seeking to 21474832384
so i tryed qtparted that made the following message
An error happend durong ped_file_system_open call

I don't really understand your post as it is confusing and you have not given enough information such as a printout of fdisk. So you just want to re-size an ext3 partition? If so this is easy but it can be tricky depending on your situation. I have recently re-configured my entire drive. This included deleting two partitions, changing order of paritions, and resizing two ext3 partitions. No data loss, everything in <30 min with standard linux tools.
Post more info and exacly what you want to do. A good post would be a printout of your fdisk /dev/(drive you want to work on) as it is now, and the way you would like it to be. _________________ -Raf |
