Hello,
I have a Nokia 3650 phone and a Billionton dongle. The intention was, quite obviously perhaps, to transfer the data atleast from the phone to the pc. Vice-versa wasn't a concern.
I followed this guide and found it to be brilliant. Now, I have a working Bluetooth connection between my phone and the pc and am able to transfer data from the phone to the pc.
One thing I'd like to mention, I use kdebluetooth. As suggested when the application starts, i changed /etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf as follows:
Code: |
pin_helper /usr/lib/kdebluetooth/kbluepin;
|
Everything works fine. Only, if either the bluetooth init script isn't started or the dongle isn't attached and if you try to access the Bluetooth module via the KDE Control Center, you'll encounter an error that says something like "DCOP error when calling services()".
I haven't yet tried to transfer data from my computer to the phone. I shall try that very soon and post here how it goes, if anyone would be interested.
Thank you very much for the HOWTO and hope I can be of some help to someone too! |

Split from The host-to-host bluetooth HOWTO as mobile phones have nothing to do with host-to-host bluetooth.
Moved from Documentation, Tips & Tricks to Networking & Security. |

Yes, I wondered about my post not being in the proper thread, but I had followed the host-to-host HOWTO, so I posted it there. Anyways, sorry for the inconvenience Deathwing00. Anyways, if anyone wishes to know how I managed to get things working, I'd be willing to elaborate... |
