Here's what my portage on my iBook wants to do when I try 'emerge -uD world -p':
Code: |
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating world dependencies \
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "sys-kernel/gentoo-sources" have been masked.

What?! I don't want the Linux sources. This computer running Darwin kernel.
Code: |
$ uname -a
Darwin teacrios.local 8.4.0 Darwin Kernel Version 8.4.0: Tue Jan 3 18:22:10 PST 2006; root:xnu-792.6.56.obj~1/RELEASE_PPC Power Macintosh powerpc

I don't use portage on os x very often but this used to work one time. |

chances are you've got a program installed that is requiring kernel sources. You've probably done an 'emerge sync' that updated the ebuilds. One of the new ebuilds probably wants the kernel sources for what ever reason. If you need a program out of portage, and it wants gentoo-sources, try the --nodeps option on emerge. It won't install gentoo-sources, but it also won't install anything else it needs
So you may have to install packages step by step using --nodeps. But, I'm not a developer, so there might be a good reason why this is occuring. _________________ Regards,
