hi.
how do I change console color values?
I'm not refering to changing bash prompt. What I want to change is, say color "blue", that will change "blue" so that anytime the console should display "blue" it'll display my modified blue...
this is what I want to do:
blue = #0077ff;//whenever the console should display blue, it'll use 0077ff rgb value.
At home, I have X11 and I can modify .Xdefaults && xrdb -load ~/.Xdefaults to make xterm on X11 to display my version of color set.
But the server I work on doesn't have X11.
I can still get some color in console applications like vim by setting TERM variable as xterm.
So, how do I change rgb values of colors used in a sshed console?
Thank you. |

I guess you should look around dircolors. _________________ Registered user #30505 |

only thing is that the server (i'm not the admin) is old (uses gcc 2.95.3) and doesn't have dircolor |

.dir_colors only defines which color to use in, for example files types and dirs - it doesn't let you define which rgb value to use. _________________ linux: #232767 |
