/etc/init.d/* logging

Hello,

I wonder if there is any logging of the /etc/init.d/* scripts. For example, this is happening to me:

$ /etc/init.d/dhcrelay start
* Starting dhcrelay... [ !! ]

How do i know why dhcrelay fails? Is there any log somewhere? I can't seem to find it, nor a verbose option for the script.

have you looked at the logs in /var/log ??
maybe /var/log/messages
