when i try to send mail i get the following error:
| Code: | sunni ~ # echo "moo" | mail bart
gdbm fatal: lseek error
sendmail: ERR: submitclient: EOF from submit.
432 Service temporarily unavailable.
bart: invalid address.
Can't send mail: sendmail process failed with error code 75 |
reinstalling gdbm didn't help, i don't know where to look.
pls help

And we should know, without any form of configuration info from your side ?

Please post your /etc/mail/sendmail.mc. If convenient, don't list the lines starting with dnl (if that's a problem, just post the whole thing.)
I think you may not have a local mailer listed, but seeing sendmail.mc is the way to know.

Well, I didn't mean to jump on your bones, or maybe it looks that way, but consider - you are using sendmail yet do not know basic configuration, and squirrelmail never features in your post anywhere.
So what am I supposed to think ?
E-mail systems are complex; detailed knowledge of them is not optional.
