How do I get in to single user mode.
I searched but I could not find anything that worked.
I tried adding single to the kernel line but it did nothing. |

A good way to get into single user mode is to boot your machine and when you get to the grub menu, edit the parameters for your kernel, add a space and 'single' to the end. You will then boot into single user mode and be able to change your root password. _________________ Josh Miller -- RHCE, VCP

So it starts in runlevel 3 anyway? Do all of your services start? Are you not logged in when it starts up? What is the output from the following command?

it would just start up to the login prompt. I just used the livecd to boot it and change the password. I am using hardened sources on it that mught be what is stopping it. |

Ahhh, that could be it. I'll have to take a look into that.
Anyone know for sure? _________________ Josh Miller -- RHCE, VCP
